Jordan #2: The South (October 2012)

The South is were the real attraction of Jordan lies. The landscape is dotted with hills and mountains, often strangely formed. Lots of red rocks, it reminded me of Australia (Uluru etc). In South Jordan I visited Petra and Wadi Rum, and the TWHS of Dana Biosphere Reserve. The latter is a more quiet addition to the 2 popular WHS, with good opportunities for hiking and experiencing Bedouin life.

Jordan #1: The North (October 2012)

I started my 10-day trip around Jordan by exploring the northern part of this country. It was much more barren and desert-like than I had expected. In addition to both northern WHS (Quseir Amra and Um-er Rasas), I also visited the TWHS of Bethany and Jerash. Both are certainly worth a detour. I finally ended up floating in the Dead Sea (no nomination at all!).
