Mauritius (November 2010)

I just spent a pleasant week on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. I stayed away from the beach resorts, and instead explored North, South, East and West of the country by the excellent public bus system. I did not encounter any world class sites on Mauritius; its two WHS are so mostly because of their symbolic value for slavery & indentured labour. What I liked best was my day trip to the Black River Gorges National Park (a tentative WHS).
