lenora qereqeretabua (Fiji):
I was in Levuka in September to handover resources to the National Trust's Resource Centre on behalf of our Foundation, the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation. As a mobile company employee, I was shocked to see a mobile base station built almost up against the early 19th century building that houses the town's museum, library and resource center. The tower, I found out belongs to Digicel who are citing expense for not removing their tower, which is going to seriously jeapordize Levuka's chances of getting Fiji's first World Heritage Site Listing. I'd be just as pissed off if it was our tower and I can't believe that a big business can be allowed to just put up their towers anywhere they want to without the permission of the people who should be consulted.
