Trash Lake

Binegadi Fauna and Flora Deposit (On tentative list)

"Lake beyond trash pile" I wrote on my notes for this tentative. Well, it's not wrong. But I figured there would be SOMETHING to see. You DO get to see a lake beyond the trash I suppose, not that it's really nice or anything.

First off I tried to see it from the Lake Hotel. This should be a safe bet. Why would they place a hotel next to the lake and still have trash? For some reason they do! It's smelly and the path splits to "trash pile" on the right side. I took a pic from the hotel area but this is not the place where you want to be at all. After a quick chat with the security guard about the lake it turns out I should be at the north end of all this. You can see the pictures from there.

Not awesome but at least not as trashy. You can still see/drive past/smell the trash on the east side as you reach this place. Once there you have to go off-road for a brief moment or just walk from the main road. As I was arriving there was a gang of hoodlums beating up another hoodlum so I just drove past them...but yeah it's not a fancy area at all. It wasn't smelly at the north end and I did take a few more pics but it's NOT what you came to see. In fact the tar pit contains fauna and flora deposit which are now at the Natural-Historical Museum.

Binegadi Lake 02

Do yourself a favor and look at this stuff IN the natural history museum rather than look at the shitty lake that contains these underneath not just water but also the soil. I know it compares to the Messelpitt but I wouldn't rate that high either. Also you can actually enter the Messelpitt and here you just see the lake that has filled the tar pit.

Does not seem too promising! Additionally, its kind of disappointing seeing these stagnant, degraded nominations. In the small UNESCO description, it mentions how this site is "richer by number of animal relics' than the La Brea Tar Pits. Could be true or complete nonsense. Either way, the La Brea Tar Pits have not been put forward for world heritage status. I will also add the visitor experience sounds pretty horrendous, while the La Break Tar Pits are pretty nice (though not particularly exciting).
