"Albreda, probably another Portuguese settlement, was rented to French traders in 1681. It became the location of the French comptoir in The Gambia. Albreda and San Domingo served as the main trading outlets of the Kingdom of Niumi, and were the westernmost terminus of the long-distance trade routes from the interior. At the demand of the English, the site was abandoned by the French in 1857, but they came back, seen in the remains of two French trading company buildings, Maurel Frères and CFAO" (AB ev)

In 1118, construction of the new church of Sant'Antimo Abbey began, under the guidance of Abbot Guidone. The most important point of reference for the project of the new church was the great Benedictine abbey of Cluny. The abbot requested the intervention of French architects to design the new building, which was partly inspired by the Benedictine church of Vignory from 1050.

Shush Castle "located in the ruins of the ancient city of Susa . Constructed by French archaeologist Jean-Marie Jacques de Morgan in the late 1890s, as a secure base for archaeological exploration and excavation. The Castle is similar to medieval monuments in France. The structure was built by local craftsmen with bricks taken from two other archaeological sites, the Achaemenid Darius/Dariush castle and the Elamite Choqazanbil ziggurat. It is built atop a hill ("tappeh") which may contain other relics of past times. It is an example of the pre-scientific era of archaeology, when explorers mutilated or destroyed sites in the process of examining them. The former French government property was taken over by the Islamic Republic after the Iranian Revolution in 1979" . See -
