Central African Republic

3.05 2 9

The Central African Republic ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention in 1980 and currently has exclusively natural properties inscribed.

Its World Heritage sites include Manovo‑Gounda St. Floris National Park and the transboundary Sangha Trinational, both recognised for outstanding biodiversity, expansive rainforests, and key habitats for endangered megafauna. A diverse set of tentative cultural and mixed nominations—such as megalithic sites, petroglyphs, colonial heritage, and indigenous Pygmy cultural landscapes—demonstrates an emerging focus on the country’s human history.
