The Philippines ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on 19 September 1985. Its inscribed sites are evenly balanced between cultural and natural significance, including iconic cultural landscapes like the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras and Baroque Churches, as well as natural sites such as the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park and Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park.
Its Tentative List spans archaeological cave complexes, geological formations, colonial urban structures, and marine and forest reserves.
