Tonga accepted the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on April 30, 2004.
It does not yet have any inscribed World Heritage sites, but its Tentative List includes significant cultural nominations. These focus on archaeological landscapes such as Tonga’s ancient capitals, featuring monumental stone trilithons and royal tombs.
