Ukraine ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on 12 October 1988.
It boasts a diverse array of inscribed properties: predominantly cultural—including Kyiv’s Saint‑Sophia Cathedral and related monastic ensemble, the Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans, the Historic Centre of Odesa, Wooden Tserkvas, and archaeological heritage—with a single natural transnational site comprising primeval beech forests in the Carpathians.
