WHC Statistics
This page presents an overview of the statistics of each WHC session. It includes the following parameters:
Year: the year the WHC meeting was held. 2021 and 2023 had a 'double session', to make up for skipping 2020 and 2022.
New Sites: number of new WHS inscribed at the session.
Not Inscribed: sites that were withdrawn right before the session and those with a Referral, Deferral and Not to Inscribe decision.
Extended: sites that have been extended at that session (the original inscription was at an earlier year).
European: newly inscribed sites from countries that belong to the region Europe and North America (one region within the WH setup). It also includes sites in Asian Russia, Asian Türkiye and Israel.
African: newly inscribed sites from countries that belong to the region Africa. Northern African states such as Algeria and Egypt belong to a different region (Arab States).
Transboundary: newly inscribed sites that are either transboundary (contiguous in 2 or more countries) or serial transnational.
1 crit: newly inscribed sites that have been inscribed on a single OUV criterion only.
Rating: average site rating of the newly inscribed sites, as given by our community members.
