Five sites make up this property; and Fuerza de Capul is most exemplary because of its dual purpose as a church (religious) and as a fortress (military). Many will be quick to compare these properties with other Spanish colonial fortifications in terms of size and grandeur, and they will also miss out the fact that these structures function within an ingenious archipelagic defense system.
