Fortress of S.Francisco do Penedo has been part of the Tentative list of Angola.
The Fortress of Sao Francisco do Penedo is a late 18th century Portuguese fortress. It protected the harbour of Luanda. It was an instrument in the slave trade, but also served as a prison of the Portuguese political police.
