Huayllay National Sanctuary
Huayllay National Sanctuary is a protected area containing landscapes of exceptional beauty, significant wetlands and a wide variety of rock formations of volcanic origin, shaped by processes of erosion by wind, water and glaciers. The harsh climatic conditions prevailing in this area have favoured the appearance of a particular and well-adapted flora and fauna. The rock formations are an important testimony to the local geomorphology, plate tectonics and the formation of the Andes.
