Parc national de Port-Cros
Parc national de Port-Cros is part of the Tentative list of France in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Parc national de Port-Cros is located about 10 kilometres from the French coast and consists of the island of Port-Cros, three small islets and a 600-metre-wide zone around the coast. It was the first national park in Europe to include both terrestrial and maritime zones. Port-Cros is mountainous and densely forested with a rocky coast to the south and a low sandy coast to the north. This provides a variety of habitats and favours especially birds and a diverse marine fauna.
