The Madrasa Amiriya of Rada
The Madrasa Amiriya of Rada is part of the Tentative list of Yemen in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Madrasa Amiriya of Rada is considered one of the jewels of Tahirid architecture in Yemen. The madrasa was constructed in 1504 during the Taharid dynasty, and includes a courtyard enclosed by porticoes and a prayer hall covered with domes on the upper floor rather than the ground floor. The intricate paintings and qadad plastering of the madrasa were restored by local craftsmen during an internationally-recognized conservation project in the early 21st century.
