Naj Tunich Cave
Naj Tunich Cave is part of the Tentative list of Guatemala in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Naj Tunich Cave comprises a natural cave of karstic origin that was used as a ritual site by the Maya. Hieroglyphic texts, painted scenes and anthropomorphic figures from the Late Classic (c. 600–c. 900) have been found. They were only rediscovered in 1979.
