Route of the Agroindustry and the Architecture Victoriana
Route of the Agroindustry and the Architecture Victoriana is part of the Tentative list of Guatemala in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Route of the Agroindustry and the Architecture Victoriana comprises buildings made for the export agroindustry in the late 19th and early 20th century. They are related to the entry to the banana and coffee market of the United Fruit Company. To support this export, Guatemala’s infrastructure of highways, railroads, and sea ports was improved (including a railroad from the major port of Puerto Barrios to the capital Guatemala City that fell 100km short of its goal) .
