Pelagos: The Cetacean Sanctuary is part of the Tentative list of Italy in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Pelagos: The Cetacean Sanctuary is a protected marine area located in the waters of France, Italy and the Principality of Monaco. The area is located between Tolone (France), Capo Falcone (West-Sardinia) and Fosso Chiarore (Tuscany). The area has been known since the ancient time to be the home for many species of whales and other marine fauna.
