L'Ile de Carabane
L'Ile de Carabane is part of the Tentative list of Senegal in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
A French trading post was founded on Carabane Island in 1836. It is known for its historic colonial architecture, including the Catholic mission, church and ruins of warehouses. There are also reminders of the slave trade.
