Site archéologique de Bura is part of the Tentative list of Niger in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The archaeological site of Bura comprises necropolises and religious altars. It dates from between the 3rd and 13th century. Anthropomorphic terracotta funerary urns have been excavated, including the oldest terracotta equestrian statuettes from the Niger basin. They are the subject of intense illicit traffic.
