Trans-Fly Complex

.

Trans-Fly Complex is part of the Tentative list of Papua New Guinea in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List. It is a proposed extension of Kakadu National Park WHS.

The Trans-Fly Complex is a tropical wetland and savanna region that is home to millions of birds including 80 endemic species. It includes the Tonda Wildlife Management Area. It also holds sites sacred to the indigenous people. It could be nominated as a transboundary site, either with Kakadu WHS or the adjacent areas on the Indonesian side.
