The Great Vasyugan Mire
The Great Vasyugan Mire is part of the Tentative list of Russia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Great Vasyugan Mire is the largest swamp of the northern hemisphere. It lies at the watershed of the Ob and Irtysh rivers. The landscape consists of peat bogs and forested bogs. It is 8,000-11,000 years old. Mammals such as elk, brown bear, lynx, sable, squirrels are very common.
