The Historical Port of Siraf
The Historical Port of Siraf is part of the Tentative list of Iran in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Historical Port of Siraf was Iran’s most prominent port during the Sassanid era. At the time the Persian Gulf was used as a shipping route for dhows between the Arabian Peninsula and India. Only ruins of houses of wealthy traders and mosques remain.
