The Silk Road Sites in India consist of 12 components that connected India with the main Silk Road via three different routes. It was mostly Buddhism that was exported here. Kushinagar is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Buddhists believe Gautama Buddha attained Parinirvana after his death. The site of Arikamedu stands out as one of the biggest ancient Roman trade centers in India.
