La Payunia, Campos Volcánicos Llancanelo y Payún Matrú is part of the Tentative list of Argentina in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Provincial Reserves Llancanelo Lake and Payunia with the Payún Matrú volcano comprise an area of volcanic landforms. Here a rare coexistence of efusive and explosive eruptions occurs. The area of natural beauty shows an eroded landscape created by younger eruptions.
