Odunpazari Historical Urban Site
Odunpazari Historical Urban Site is part of the Tentative list of Turkiye in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Odunpazari is known for its vernacular architecture. Traditional crafts such as clock making and carving of meerschaum are still practiced. Its “Kursunlu Mosque Complex” has been home to the Sufi religious order of Mevlevism for four centuries.

Odunpazari is a picturesque neighborhood of Eskisehir, a mid-size city easily accessible by train from Ankara. It is very walkable once you arrive, and you can wander around the colorful houses, eat ciborek, and buy handicrafts. There are a lot of museums in the area; I visited the glass arts museum, hamam museum, OMM (modern art museum), and the meerschaum museum. I would recommend spending half a day here and checking out the rest of Eskisehir after.

Odunpazari is picturesque and should be on your visit regardless of world heritage status. My fav is obviously the pink corner shop. The small alleys with colorful wooden houses and handicrafts are tourist gold. It's not unique enough on its own but I believe with the intangible culture and the mosque (I didn't visit) complex it will somehow get inscribed for enough niches.
Be aware that parking in high season must be quite hellish as it was already hard to find a good legal spot in January. At least it didn't snow in this part of Turkey then.
