Taninthayi Forest Corridor
Taninthayi Forest Corridor is part of the Tentative list of Myanmar in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Taninthayi Forest Corridor contains some of the southernmost dry seasonal evergreen forests. The Corridor comprises Taninthayi National Park, Lenya National Park and Thagyet Reserved Forest. It lies in the transition zone between Indochinese and Sundaic zoological species. Notable fauna includes 99% of the population of the critically endangered Gurney’s Pitta, as well as Asian Elephant, Tiger, Malayian Tapir and Sunda Pangolin.
