Thembang Fortified Village is part of the Tentative list of India in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Thembang Fortified Village is a mountain village inhabited by the Monpas. It is an early example of Dzong architecture, and reflects the exchange of ideas between Bhutanese, Tibetan and Indian people. The fort has 2 entrances. Due to the growing population, part of the villager lives outside its walls.
