Western Caucasus (re-nomination)
Western Caucasus (re-nomination) is part of the Tentative list of Russia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List. It is a proposed extension of Western Caucasus WHS.
The re-nomination of the Western Caucasus WHS encompasses the addition of the broad leaved old-growth forests of Sochi NP, the correction of borders and the carve out of a part of the area of Lagonaki plateau (degraded due to cattle grazing and tourism).
