Geoglyphs of Acre
Geoglyphs of Acre is part of the Tentative list of Brazil in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Geoglyphs of Acre are over 400 earthen structures created by Amazonian indigenous peoples. They weren’t widely known until the year 2000. The geometric patterns were probably used as ritual spaces. It took large scale transformations of the landscape without use of metal tools to create them.
