Kharga Oasis and the Small Southern Oases
Kharga Oasis and the Small Southern Oases is part of the Tentative list of Egypt in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Kharga Oasis Depression is home to several oases with their own flora and the traces of ancient caravan routes. Dorcas gazelles live freely in the area. The small oases are currently uninhabited. The ruins of Roman fortresses along the trade route can still be seen. From Ancient Egypt the Temple of Hibis remains.
