Parcs nationaux de Boumba Bek et de Nki
Le Complexe des parcs nationaux de Boumba Bek et de Nki is part of the Tentative list of Cameroon in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Boumba Bek and Nki are two contiguous national parks and together, they form the largest protected area of Cameroon. Because of its remoteness, Nki has sometimes been described as "the last true wilderness". The proposed site prides itself on its exceptional natural beauty. It offers a variety of evergreen, semi-deciduous and mixed forest, interspersed with dry and wet savanna and meadows. The parks form a habitat for numerous rare animal species, some of which are threatened with extinction, like the forest elephant and the lowland gorilla.
