Gola Rainforest National Park
Gola Rainforest National Park is part of the Tentative list of Liberia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Gola Rainforest National Park is a trans-boundary park (Liberia / Sierra Leone) to protect the precious Gola rainforest. The Gola rainforest forests contain high amounts of biomass carbon, which contributes to mediating climate change processes and maintaining biodiversity at a global scale. It is also home to many globally threatened mammals and birds, including Pygmy Hippopotamus and Western Chimpanzee.
