National Steppe Biosphere Reserve "Askaniya Nowa"
National Steppe Biosphere Reserve "Askaniya Nowa" is part of the Tentative list of Ukraine in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Askanija-Nowa is a biosphere reserve in Kherson oblast in southern Ukraine. The reserve consists of a zoological park, a dendrological garden and an open area of virgin steppes. The reserve is home to more than 50 rare native and reintroduced species, including the Turkmenian kulan and a group of Przewalski's horses.
