Le Stratotype de la limite Crétacé-Tertiaire
The Stratotype of the Cretaceous-Tertiary limit comprises a clay layer with elements of meteorite origin. The meteorite impact marked the end of the Cretaceous and led to a massive and large-scale biological extinction. This easily visible layer of hundreds of meters in length is found in the region of Oued Mallègue.
