Mongolian Gobi
The Desert Landscapes of the Mongolian Great Gobi proposal includes three parts of the Great Gobi and Small Gobi Strictly Protected Areas, covering more than six million hectares.
In the Mongolian Gobi, several major geographic regions with specific ecological conditions, vegetation and landforms can be distinguished. The areas encompass important populations of threatened and endangered species such as the gobi bear, wild bactrian camel, and the snow leopard.
